About Me

I am an educator at heart and believe that some of the best learning happens through the lived experience.  Exposing oneself to new experiences creates a lifelong relationship with learning about, valuing, and celebrating difference.

That is where travel comes in! I grew up with family across the Midwest and road trips were part of our annual experiences. This childhood passion carried into adulthood where I was able to travel extensively before having children and now love showing them the world. Check out my tips & tricks on traveling with small children - it can be a blast and NOT overwhelming! Whether we get to experience something new together or I get to re-live an experience through their eyes, any trip is worth taking.  Tell me "when" and "where", I will be there!  "Yes" is always my answer. There is no trip too big or too small. 

I think there is a time to vacation when you need to put up your feet and relax; and a time for travel, when you are driven to have an action packed adventure full of new experiences.  I have traveled for business, pleasure, by myself and with family. I have taken romantic getaways and trips with our family of five. I have traveled with extended family and been honored to host large group trips.

My blog is a dedication to spreading my love of travel and hope others find my travel musings helpful as they expand their own horizons and make  unforgettable memories.

Places I have been: I have traveled to 6 of 7 continents traveling more extensively in the United States, Europe, Japan, Ghana, Mexico, Germany, and Australia.  I have visited 29 countries overall but keep dreaming of all the other's that still await!

Types of Travel: I have stayed at all-inclusive resorts (family & adult only), cruised extensively, and planned/traveled  a "pick your own adventure" unique, specialized itinerary. 

Favorite Vacations:  Japan, Hawaii, Oaxaca, Ireland, Italy, and Australia (but really, I could list them all!)

Bucket List: St. Petersburg, Scandinavia, Alaska, and Galapagos Islands.
